Ebba Busch 

is the Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden, Minister for Energy and Minister for Business and Industry since October 2022. Born in 1987 in Uppsala, Sweden, she also holds Norwegian citizenship through her father.

Busch's political career began when she became the municipal party political secretary for the Christian Democrats councillor Gustaf von Essen in the Uppsala Municipality. At 22, she assumed responsibility for the budget and later became a substitute municipal councillor.

She has been the Leader of the Christian Democrats since April 2015, guiding her party to its best electoral performance in 12 years during the 2018 Swedish general election ¹. Her leadership has focused on issues like healthcare, family politics and opposition to mosque prayer calls and gender science in preschools.

Energy: 

As Minister for Energy, Busch announced subsidies for municipalities constructing new land-based wind farms and allocated funds for energy storage development in September 2024

Busch has faced controversy, including a 2021 criminal investigation for defamation, resulting in probation and a SEK 60,000 fine Despite this, she remains a significant figure in Swedish politics.
